The Mortal Kombat franchise is a staple of the arcades, still boasting a strong following over two decades since Mortal Kombat debuted on the PlayStation. The trilogy was originally released on arcade across the world. I didn't even know whether the series had a future. I hadn't played any of the original games since buying the NES version back when I was a kid. The original arcade collections were only released in the nineties, and a preview was provided by Gamestop, which includes Mortal Kombat (1991), Mortal Kombat 2 (1993), and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (1996).
